Recommendation from Reed Overfelt, Microsoft GM

September 21, 2008

“Jeremy work for me at Microsoft for 4 years – both as a key member of my organization and as a direct report. Jeremy is one of the smartest people I have ever worked with.

His passion for business, people, and customers is simply infectious. He is a ravenous consumer of new knowledge, skills, and ideas. He loves to be challenged – the bigger the better. And, he thrives in organizations that maximize his talents.

Jeremy is a world class channel marketer. He has built numerous innovative programs for Microsoft including an award-winning channel marketing engine which touched over 2000 customers resulting in$5mm in pipeline, and just under $2mm in landed revenue…and he did it all for under $40k in expenditure! He is also arguably one of the best business-side data analysts in the US. He led our data mining initiatives for 2 years which helped us grow a key part of our business 2x faster than any other region.

Finally, he is a living, walking example of a web2.0 marketer. His blog “Marketing for Partners” – which he launched with no budget – is now rated in the top 7% of ALL 4,500 Microsoft blogs. Jeremy is also a great team player. He understands he is only as good as their internal and external network. And, his network is 2nd to none in my experience.

He maintains a contact list of over 1400 people with whom he maintains regular contact and he has one of the top ranking Microsoft blogs with over 100K pages view/month. He continually builds and nurtures this network and no surprise he frequently leverages his network to deliver breakthrough results for his work teams and organizations. The value of these kinds of letter has diminished considerable over the years.

So, I will be utterly frank. This is as a good of a recommendation as I have ever written for anyone who has worked for me. Jeremy is one of those unique individuals who would be tremendous addition to any organization. It was an honor having him on my team. And, I would work with him again in a heartbeat.” October 28, 2007
