The Never Stop Marketing Todd Newfield Award is given quarterly (roughly) to the blog reader who, through a comment (or multiple comments), best exemplifies Golden Rule #2 of my first boss.
His sage advice was:

Second, don't ever believe your own bullshit."
This time, our winner, is Ben Vollmer. I’ve known Ben for about 7 years now and the award recognizes the fact that he calls me on my B.S. at least once a month. Maybe this should be a “lifetime achievement award.”
And he calls me on it in a unique and humiliating way, which leaves no doubt about how full of it I am!
Whether it is an iPad purchase, setting up my network, having no patience while my MX server is re-routed or my whining about mobile phones, Ben brings me back down to earth…and fast.
I’ve said many times that Ben may just be the “brightest technologist I know” and that’s probably what positioned him for this award, since I lean on him when I’ve got the tough questions.
So, Ben, here’s to you.
