Congratulations to Kristen Zatina the 3rd winner of the Todd Newfield Award.
Her comments and deep questioning of the Raving Fan concept created a whole new path of exploration for me and introduced the Raving Critics notion into the equation.
As Todd, my first boss said,
"Jeremy, there are two keys to success in business.
First, only work with people you like.
Second, don't ever believe your own bullshit."
The "Todd Newfield Award" is for the blog reader who does the best job (via a comment on a post) of helping me adhere to rule #2 above.
By the way, this was one of the more contested awards.
Honorable mentions go to:
- Daryl Henderson for his comment on Etrade
- Ian Brodie for his comment on my Twitter following policy
- Adam Schorr for his comment on branding
And our previous winners

Congratulations Kristen.
Jer: I think we need a new award. The award for actually not having your own bullshit!

Ahhhh! Thank you so much Jeremy! I am so sorry for this delayed state of excitement. After being laid-off in December, my social networking activity, including daily blog reading, screeched to a halt. In discovering this blog post today however, I cannot thank you enough for the honor of the Todd Newfield Award although I think you are far too generous in making me its recipient. Also, I couldn't help but notice through the trusty ol' Facebook feed that we are on the eve of a very special day. Happy Birthday Jeremy! Thank you again (and Adam too) for your kind words.
